Space Pirates had been squatting with another few crews at RAT’s Ballet School. Shortly before being evicted from there, someone walking down Southampton Row found an open door and walked inside what soon became the Freeshop.
By the time the ballet school had been evicted over 20 people had moved in and were living in the shop and basement. This was more than a squeeze and so most of the RAT crew and others moved into a much bigger university building around the corner, after about 10 days.
This left the building ready for a freeshop…
